License Issue
The price list is here: www.opclabs.com/purchase/full-price-list . You are eligible for version discount. I will send you the value of the discount, plus discount coupon code for online purchase, by email.
I will also send you by email an evaluation license key, valid for 30 days. This key will work with any reasonably new version, including the one you are probably currently using (2023.1). Install it using the License Manager utility (or embed within the product - the procedure is described in the User's Guide).
If your software is already using version 2023.1, however, the easiest and recommended way to proceed is that you first upgrade to the current version, which is 2024.2. It should as easy as to do "Manage NuGet Packages" on the Visual Studio project, and then select a new version of OpcLabs.QuickOpc package and install it. If you switch to 2024.2, the evaluation license key won't be absolutely necessary (2024.2 will run in trial mode, 30 minutes of valid data each run, without the license key; the evaluation key will just lift this restriction, for 30 days).
Best regards

Is it as simple as just re-installing version 5.2
I think someone has installed a newer version and caused this issue?
Is there a license utility can you re-issue the license is that required?

Here is what I can tell from the information available:
1. You have purchased QuickOPC 5.2 Standard in 2013 (with no upgrade assurance - i.e. the license key is only for that version)
2. The error message you provided is from QuickOPC version 5.71 (2023.1), which is 10 years newer.
3. The error is either coming from the Connectivity Explorer application, OR you are somehow trying to use the license embedded in the Connectivity Explorer.
I think you have following choices:
a) Build and use the QuickOPC version and the license key you originally purchased (5.2x). All commercial licenses are perpetual, so the license key will still work.
b) You can upgrade to recent version (QuickOPC 2024). To try it out, you can download it from our Web site (plus the package are on nuget.org). In this case there is a trial license built-in, so no need to send an extra evaluation license key.
c) You can use the version you are probably using now (2023.1) - and if you want to try that one, yes, we will need to send you an evaluation license key (however if you want to use tools like Connectiovity Explorer or OpcCmd, you will have to use the newest ones anyway, because the evaluation license key only enables *your* software, and not the tools). Let me know if you need it.
Best regards

Hi I have a similar issue the engineer has left and I am unfamiliar with this environment - I think I need to purchase a license but I'm unsure which one and if it will fix the problem can I please get a trial license to test briefly with? this system is old and using VB.net using a DLL to talk to a local OPC server - here is the error textException Details: 'QuickOPC' License Is Not Valid Type: OpcLabs.BaseLib.Licensing.LicensingExceptionData: ErrorId_{045406CD-8EEA-4F21-B3D6-DC9DB5A34E58}: OpcLabs.{F60C1B8F}HelpLink:HResult: -2146232063 (0x80131901)InnerException:Instance: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Property accessor 'Instance' on object 'OpcLabs.BaseLib.Licensing.LicensingException' threw the following exception:'The member with the specified name "instance" has not been found.' ---> OpcLabs.BaseLib.MemberNotFoundException: The member with the specified name "instance" has not been found. at OpcLabs.BaseLib.Extensions.Internal.ObjectExtension.GetFieldValue(Object obj, String name) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.ComponentModel.ReflectPropertyDescriptor.GetValue(Object component) at OpcLabs.BaseLib.Forms.Common.ReadOnlyPropertyDescriptor.OriginalPropertyDescriptorGetValue(Object component)LicensedType: OpcLabs.EasyOpc.DataAccess.EasyDAClientMessage: Not allowed to run by the license "Multipurpose". You might be running a trial license, and the version of the software you are using is obsolete. To resolve this problem, a) obtain a recent version, or b) ask for an evaluation license key, or c) install a license valid for the current version. Product information follows. Component name: "QuickOPC", license IDs: "Multipurpose", version number: 571, release date: 09/06/2023, trial validity: 397 days, option expression: "EasyDAClient". Context: 1 dropped license(s); S/N 1999004254 (release date covered 01/03/2025).Source:StackTrace:TargetSite:
