QuickOPC 2018.1 Released
Published: February 11, 2018
We are happy to announce that QuickOPC 2018.1 has been released today. This version brings support for OPC UA Complex Data.
In OPC UA, servers can stick to the standard types defined in the OPC UA specifications, or they can define their own types. The "non-standard" data types can be completely server-specific, or can conform to some industry standard. Usage of these data types is commonly referred to as OPC UA complex data. With complex data, it is possible that the data type is not even know at compile time; instead, it can be discovered, constructed or processed during runtime, without prior knowledge of it.
The OPC UA Complex Data extension integrates into the QuickOPC component, and its functionality is thus transparently available both to .NET and COM programming languages and tools.
For more information, see What's new in QuickOPC 2018.1 .
Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, University of Sheffield use educational license of QuickOPC for research
Published: December 17, 2017
Project RAID (Reconfigurable Integrated Assembly Demonstrator) is a demonstration project currently being undertaken within the IMG group at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Sheffield, UK. The project aims to demonstrate the benefits of various advanced manufacturing techniques in a complex assembly line environment. Developing and integrating technologies such as Smart Tools, MES, PLM, Collaborative Systems, Smart Fixturing, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Optical Projection, Digital Twin, Informatics, Part Tracking, Digital Work Instructions, Predictive Maintenance, Smart Kitting, and Remote Assistance and applying them to traditional manufacturing processes allows us to extract previously-untapped data related to both the process and product through its complete lifecycle from design and manufacture to operation and maintenance. By intelligently analyzing the data, we are able to convert this into useful information, thus allowing us to make proactive informed decisions regarding all aspects of the design, manufacture and operation of the product. As OPC UA forms the backbone of the project's communication architecture, using OPCLabs' toolkit was an easy decision to make. Allowing QuickOPC to handle the heavy lifting resulted in reduced development time, reduced complexity and increased security.

From Our Customers
William F. Mitchell
I came across your product after having looked at several and found it hands down the easiest one to get the job done quickly and reliably.
Emilio S.
I downloaded and installed the QuickOpc.NET from OpcLabs and I must say I'm very much positively impressed! In minutes I could read and subscribe items from inside a sample .NET application. This is exactly what we need.
Peter Thomas, Control Specialists Ltd
I came across QuickOPC.NET when undertaking a C# project that needed to access data in a Siemens PLC using OPC. Having used the free trial version, it quickly became clear that QuickOPC.net would remove the need for an in-depth knowledge of OPC client to server protocols and would allow me to concentrate on the application itself. It is very robust, easy to integrate into a .net project and the response to my questions by email was excellent. I'd certain only recommend the product and the company.
ADP-Assistant
Currently we use QuickOPC via PHP. [...] I was unsure if I was able to do it. Luckily the coding was very easy, and it took only some 5-10 minutes to get it working.
We have found that when using QuickOPC with Matrikon OPC Tunneller, it is really easy and reliable.
SMS-MEVAC GmbH
Dear Mr. Zahradnik,
After my first evaluations - also using other Test-Servers than the one delivered with your demo-package, I can confirm that the usage of QuickOPC data access is convincingly simple.
Jussi Horelli, AutoMaint, Häme polytechnic
Last autumn we looked for an easy-to-use but not product-dependent tool for integrating web and opc. We found QuickOPC and we have been very pleased with the product.
Dana A., System Integrator

This dedication to interoperability is reflected in the recognition given to us by OPC Foundation president:
