Hello.

Are you somehow mixing OPC UA and OPC Classic? You talk about (and give examples of) of what probably are OPC UA node IDs, but then you mention error C0040008 which comes from the OPC Classic client.

Node ID format? was created by micham
Hi,

When browsing the IGS OPC UA Server items, the node ID has this format:

nsu=Industrial Gateway OPC Server ;ns=2;s=46E_ENI_SLC500.46E.AA46E_AD20_DEWPT

Can you please explain what is the difference between these 2 node ID formats:

1)
nsu=Industrial Gateway OPC Server ;ns=2;s=46E_ENI_SLC500.46E.AA46E_AD20_DEWPT

2)
ns=2;s=46E_ENI_SLC500.46E.AA46E_AD20_DEWPT

What should I do to get format 2) instead of format 1) above?

When I use format 1) above my Runtime OPC Client is unable to add the OPC item and reports error C0040008.
When I use format 2) above my Runtime OPC Client is able to add the OPC item.

Thank you.

Michael
